Essential Oils and Coronavirus

There has been much information bandied around the internet on the use of aromatherapy against coronavirus, but they are not based on studies. Shannon Becker PHD has a great article on the Tisserand Institute website about the subject. Including a discussion about anti-viral essential oils and what we can learn about essential oils from research on other viruses.

Our take is to continue to diffuse potential anti-viral essential oils around the home, even if there are no studies to back this up. We simply do not know if they help, but the aromas will help in keeping a calm, clean atmosphere in the home, and many essential oils used in diffusers support the respiratory system.
